Julie Ma

Chief Financial Officer

Julie joined the Fund for New York City Public Schools as Chief Financial Officer in 2025. In her role, she leads the organization’s financial strategy, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and investment oversight. Julie works closely with the executive leadership team and board to ensure the Fund’s financial systems are responsive to organizational goals, aligned with public-private partnership efforts, and positioned to support the long-term sustainability of NYC Public Schools initiatives.

Julie brings over 15 years of experience in nonprofit finance and operations, with a deep commitment to equity-centered leadership. Prior to joining The Fund, Julie served as Interim Executive Director and Director of Finance and Operations at Internationals Network for Public Schools, where she guided the organization through a leadership transition while modernizing fiscal systems, improving audit readiness, and aligning grant and investment strategies with mission priorities. She has also worked in the movement-building space, supporting organizations focused on gender justice and survivors of domestic violence, and has consulted for a range of nonprofits to strengthen infrastructure and financial alignment.

Julie earned her Executive Master of Public Administration from Baruch College, Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and International Business from Pace University. She also studied abroad at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Southwestern University of Finance and Economics in China.
